Frequently Asked Questions about Rome Bed & Breakfast

   Q.    Why should I use your service for my B&B needs?
A.

We specialize in European B&B properties where you will stay in either a private family residence or an unhosted apartment owned by our host families. We don't deal with expensive hotels or cheap hostels, just good value private residences. We don’t sell package tours, airline tickets, car rental etc, we just do what we are good at!

Q. How can I be sure of the quality of the B&B?
A.

We have been in business for many years and have a local agent in each city who inspects each home with a checklist of our quality requirements. These include: a convenient location close to good transport, interesting neighborhoods that have many local amenities, homes that are both comfortably furnished and well decorated and most importantly, friendly hosts who are willing to offer a warm welcome and share their local knowledge with you. Incidentally we only accept about 40% of those that apply to join our register.

Q. What can I expect at these private residences?
A.

As you might expect this varies from home to home, because we don’t offer “cookie-cutter” accommodations which you couldn’t tell apart or even remember which city they were in!
What you will get is a good value, quiet and relaxing home or apartment to return to after a busy day visiting the wonderful sights and historic sites of Rome.
You will have a good night’s sleep on a comfortable bed and depending on your preference, an ensuite bathroom attached to the bedroom, a private bathroom just a few steps away which is for your use only, or a shared bathroom.
Obviously the furnishings and decor will vary from home to home but you will find a clean and well maintained property. In the morning you will be offered either a full cooked breakfast or a lighter continental breakfast depending on local tradition.
Best of all you can chat with a friendly host who will share independent local knowledge about where to eat, what to see, the best time to visit the sights... after all do you really want to spend time in lines overseas any more than at home?
This is like having a personal guide to the city...for free!!

Q. What are the hosts like?
A.

This is such a personal issue that there is no easy answer. Perhaps it will help to know that some of our hosts have been with us for almost 20 years because they offer excellent quality, great locations and most importantly a warm welcome. In fact we know of many guests who have become long-term friends with people they met as their hosts and who now visit with each other.

Q. What about your standards?
A.

We keep a recommendation and complaints file on each home and keep all our hosts on their toes. Those that don’t fix problems are removed from our listings

Q. What is your refund policy?
A. Fair but firm. This is a 2 part answer dependent on timing.

1)   Before traveling you confirm our offer with an advance partial payment. This amount is non-refundable if you flat-out cancel the trip and naturally the balance due is voided. However if you have to postpone the trip and can give us 7 days notice, then we will credit your payment toward new dates in the same city, for 1 year from the original date of charge..
2)
After arrival at the B&B you have to pay the balance due. If after inspection, you find that something is wrong, contact the local agent who will arrange to put things right or transfer you to a home that meets your approval. However once you have paid the balance we consider this final acceptance of the offer and we cannot entertain subsequent requests for refunds.
